| Every Fall Madisonville plays
host to the largest wooden boat festival in
the South. Tens of thousands of boat
enthusiasts and music lovers flock to
Madisonville for two days of fun… and to
revel at the history of wooden boats and the
craftsmanship that went into building them.
About a hundred wooden boats from all over
the South compete for top honors, while
their less serious comrades build small
wooden boats under deadline to compete in a
race on the river.
Plenty of free parking, contests,
parades, music, good food, crafts, artists
and easy access make the Madisonville Wooden
Boat Festival one the most popular events on
the Gulf Coast. |
